100,000 points! [ October 5th, 2008 ] Posted in » Personal Diary

Congratulations to everyone who is part of team Knet on BOINC! We have finally reached our 2 year longterm goal of 100,000 BOINC points! We have decided to increase our goal to 250,000 points by 2010, if possible. I encourage everyone who is not part of the world community grid to sign up and join team Knet!

Let us, together, make the world a better place!

Back-To-School

So I have been back in the P-Dot for about 2 weeks now. I have done much, met up with dozens of people I have not seen in a long time, etc.

My classes are going to be really evil, one of them is 60% participation - not really my forte.

Pride weekend is comming up which should be pretty fun. Parade then show & dance at market hall on saturday.

All my classes are at night which is kind of annoying, I have no idea when I wil lget anything done, and I already have a lot to do!

Anyways, I will keep you updated on the situation!

Uptime: I Dare You!

Both my Desktop and Laptop computers have not been rebooted for 2 weeks! I use them daily and frequently with lots of internet surfing and multi-media, not to mention BOINC running in the backgorund! My lovely machines running linux are just as fast as when they were first booted up.

I challenge you to do this with a windows based machine. With vista, it is possible, but it still ends up in severe performance drops, and you will also most likely have to reinstall windows much sooner.

Just a bit of linux propaganda, because no one else does. Root for the underdog!

Check me out all over the web!

I have condensed, re-arranged, moved, and deleted pages from my page directory, which is just below the RashidVille banner at the top of this page. That is actually an overstatement considering i only deleted 2 pages and create a single new one.

The new page is detailed as “MyWeb” and contains links to all (or most) of the networks and applications I belong to on the Internet. If you are interested, check it out, and maybe befriend me on our shared networks!

Another effort to organize and unclutterize my life, and website!

The Busker Fest

Yesterday I went wandering downtown yesterday with mom which was quite fun. First we went to check out honest ed’s (30 cents for a bottle of water… that IS honest!), then we walked to chinatown which was cool although very busy and we were too scared to try any of the food since we didn’t know what was good or not. Then we walked to Shopsy’s for a hamburger, which I somehow managed to eat even though still swollen I am, then we went to the busker fest which had some very cool things going on.

There was very good music by a number of different people on different stages, there were acrobats, lots of food stalls, tiny tim’s doughnuts, and much more! (A picture from my oh-so-beautiful camera phone… I don’t think there are any aliens in this one!)

After that we went to Dundas square and listened to music there for a bit but returned to the Busker Fest since their music was crapola! Then we went back home after a tiring day.

Today, we plan on going to cookstown just for something to do.

Post Widsom Teeth Removal

Well, the teeth removal only actually took about 20-30 minutes, although they had to try twice to get hte IV in… stupid mini veins i have!

when i got home i was bleeding like razy, using many boxes of gauz. At the moment, im bleeding a little bit although it seems like more, but that is only because of the saliva.

MY face is now swollen and a bit achy at the moment, but i really need to rbush my teeth which will be an interesting experience.

You can check my frequrnt status updates on my twitter feed. (which I have been updating quite frequently. Thsi feed is also automaticaly posted to my facebook, if you prefer that. You can also see a portion of this feed on the rashidville sidebar.
